What is recited when enlisting in the Air Force?

The Oath of Enlistment is the formal commitment made by individuals joining the Air Force. This oath signifies the individual's pledge to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, to obey the orders of the President and the officers appointed over them, and to uphold the values of the military service. It is a solemn promise that emphasizes the seriousness and dedication required of military personnel. This oath is a crucial component of the enlistment process, as it marks the transition of a civilian into a member of the armed forces, establishing their responsibilities and obligations. The other choices do not serve as the formal commitment made during enlistment; for example, the Oath of Commitment would imply a less official statement, the Code of Conduct outlines the behavior expected of Airmen but is not recited at enlistment, and the Airman's Pledge, while important in its own right, is not part of the enlistment process itself. Thus, the Oath of Enlistment is the correct answer as it is specifically designated for those enlisting in the Air Force.
